Disclaimer

Version 1.0 · Last updated April 25, 2026
Read this first. WhaleWatch is an information tool, not a financial advisor. Nothing on the site is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security. Trading involves substantial risk, including the loss of all capital invested. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

1. Not Financial, Legal, or Tax Advice

All content on WhaleWatch — including but not limited to congressional trade trackers, insider transaction summaries, options-flow alerts, dark-pool prints, sentiment scores, AI-generated commentary, screeners, watchlists, leaderboards, and price alerts — is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute investment advice, financial advice, trading advice, tax advice, legal advice, or any other sort of advice, and you should not treat any of the Service's content as such.

WhaleWatch is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, futures commission merchant, financial planner, or fiduciary in any jurisdiction. We do not know your financial situation, risk tolerance, investment objectives, or tax position, and nothing on the Service is tailored to you personally. Always consult a qualified, licensed professional before making any investment decision.

2. Trading Risk

  • Trading securities, options, futures, cryptocurrencies, and other financial instruments involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every investor.
  • Options carry additional risks, including the potential loss of the entire premium paid and, for short positions, theoretically unlimited losses.
  • Leverage and margin amplify both gains and losses; losses may exceed your initial deposit.
  • Past performance — whether of an individual security, a strategy, a congressional portfolio, or any backtest displayed on the Service — is not indicative of future results.
  • You should never invest money you cannot afford to lose.

3. Data Accuracy

We aggregate data from public sources and licensed third-party providers, including:

  • U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate periodic transaction disclosures (PTRs)
  • SEC EDGAR filings (Forms 4, 13F, 13D/G, S-1, 8-K, etc.)
  • Quiver Quantitative, Polygon.io, Finnhub, and Financial Modeling Prep market data
  • Plaid (for user-linked brokerage data, with your authorization)
  • Public economic releases from federal agencies (BLS, BEA, Federal Reserve, Treasury)

While we apply reasonable diligence, we make no representation or warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data displayed. Upstream sources may report errors, omit transactions, or revise data without notice. Quotes may be delayed (typically 15 minutes on the free plan) and may not reflect every venue. Do not rely on the Service as your sole source of truth for any trading or compliance decision.

4. Congressional Trade Disclosures (STOCK Act)

Members of the U.S. Congress have up to 45 days from the date of a transaction to file a periodic transaction report under the STOCK Act of 2012. Some filings are amended or refiled after initial submission. As a result, congressional trade data displayed on the Service necessarily lags the actual trade date and may be revised. WhaleWatch is not affiliated with the U.S. Government, the U.S. Congress, the Office of the Clerk of the House, or the Secretary of the Senate.

5. Insider, Institutional, and Options Data

Form 4 insider filings are typically reported within two business days of a transaction. Form 13F institutional holdings are filed quarterly and are 45 days delayed from period end. Options flow and dark-pool prints are derived from exchange feeds with their own latencies and reporting conventions. None of this data should be interpreted as a real-time signal of insider intent or institutional positioning.

6. AI-Generated Content

Certain features of the Service — including earnings summaries, entity profiles, and commentary — are produced by large language models. AI output may contain factual errors, hallucinations, omissions, or biases. AI-generated content is provided for convenience only and should be independently verified before being used for any decision. We are not responsible for losses resulting from reliance on AI-generated content.

7. No Endorsement

References to specific securities, issuers, members of Congress, brokerages, or other persons are for informational purposes only and do not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, or solicitation. The presence of a ticker, name, or trade on a leaderboard, screener, or alert does not imply that the underlying security is suitable for you or that we have any view on its prospects.

8. Forward-Looking Statements

Some content on the Service may contain forward-looking statements, projections, or estimates — whether produced by us, by an AI model, or sourced from third parties. Forward-looking statements are inherently uncertain and actual results may differ materially. No forward-looking statement should be relied upon as a guarantee or promise of any future outcome.

9. Affiliate and Referral Disclosure

WhaleWatch may, from time to time, include links to third-party brokerages, data providers, or financial services. Where these links are part of a paid affiliate or referral program, we will receive compensation if you sign up. Affiliate compensation does not influence which providers we link to or how we describe them, and we do not include affiliate links to products we have not used or evaluated ourselves.

10. Jurisdictional Limits

The Service is operated from Canada and is intended primarily for users in jurisdictions where its use is lawful. Some features may not be available, or may not be lawful, in certain jurisdictions. You are responsible for complying with the laws of your country, state, or province, including any applicable securities, tax, and reporting requirements.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither WhaleWatch nor its operator will be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of investment capital, loss of data, or trading losses — arising from or in connection with your use of the Service or any reliance on its content. The full limitation is set out in our Terms of Service.

12. Acknowledgement

By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Disclaimer. You confirm that you are using the Service at your own risk and that you accept full responsibility for any decisions you make based on information presented on the Service.
